New Fees for U.S. Passport and Passport Card
DOS published an interim final rule revising the schedule of fees for consular services. As of February 1, 2008, the fee for initial Passport Books will be $100 (increase of $3) and the fee for renewal Passport Books will be $75 (increase of $8). The fee for initial Passport cards (only good for land and sea travel between the U.S. and Mexico, Canada, Bermuda & the Caribbean) will be $45 for adult cards and $35 for children. For adults who already have a passport book, they may apply for the card as a passport renewal and pay only $20.
